Saint Lucian chef makes cut for Top Chef America

Saint Lucian-born Chef Nina Compton-Miller will be bringing a touch of Saint Lucia to New Orleans and the Top Chef America Competition for the new season commencing in October.

Compton-Miller has trained in French, Caribbean and Italian kitchens and worked under renowned chef, Daniel Boulud.

Nina

Presently living in Miami, she is chef de cuisine of Scarpetta at the Fountainebleu Hotel where she works closely with acclaimed chef/owner Scott Conant.

A self-proclaimed “gnocchi queen,” Compton-Miller always keeps Maldon salt, good olive oil, lemon, calabrese chilies, and either pancetta or guanciale on hand. She strongly believes one should enjoy the moment whenever they are cooking.

Top Chef New Orleans airs on Bravo on October 2, 2013 and Saint Lucia will be rooting for our very own top chef.

  1. Loving Nina's skills and composure! It's been disappointing to watch this show become a pit of foul mouthed contestants over the years, I was very pleased to see Carla Hall and Tiffany Derry not behave in that manner on their seasons and now too so is Nina... they don't need to cuss and be nasty to make statements with their abilities... You've got support and fans Nina for your skills and being a lady!
