



Saint Lucia dominated the courts, then dominated the individual awards at the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association Men’s Junior Championships at the Salle Omnisport in Galisbay, French St Martin.
Not having dropped a set in the entire competition, Saint Lucia beat the home team on Sunday night in the tournament final, 25-19 25-19 25-16.
With this win, Saint Lucia qualifies to compete in the 2014 North, Central American and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) Continental Championship.
Predictably, the champions copped the bulk of the hardware. Augustin Faulkner, the captain of Team Saint Lucia, was named Most Valuable Player, as well as Best Spiker and Best Scorer. Anfrernee Ferdinand was give the title of Best Receiver, and Kevin “Pato” Norville was adjudged Best Setter.
The remainder of the team comprises Tevin St Jean, Darnell Eudoxie, Yann Taupier, Keiran President, Andre Marquis Jr and Alexander Augier, with Elvin Germain as coach.
Saint Lucia hosts the distaff version of the ECVA Championships this week.
