(PRESS RELEASE VIA SNO) – The Saint Lucia Divers Association and the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority are combining their energies to revive a spectacular event that will bring together lovers of the undersea.

DiveFest is back after a short lull in 2017. The 2018 edition of DiveFest is slated for September 10 – 15 and there are plans to make the event the Caribbean’s premier scuba diving and watersport experience.

The event will feature a number of activities including a dive treasure hunt, lion fish derby, a pirate themed dinner, and an underwater photo workshop.

The festival will embrace dive enthusiasts of all skill levels and will showcase just why exploring Saint Lucia’s underwater marine life is a “must do” for every visitor. Adding to Saint Lucia’s prominence as a romance and family destination, the SLTA is promoting dive as another target market with the island’s twenty-two world class diving sites.

“Saint Lucia has some of the most spectacular dive sites in the world, and Divefest will highlight that fact during this extraordinary week-long event,” said Ernie George, SLTA Sales Manager, USA. “The SLTA is very excited about reviving Divefest with our partners and growing it from here on out. And with the new sites that have been added to our dive stock, we see no better time than now to reintroduce seasoned dive enthusiasts to our offerings and welcome newcomers to Saint Lucia’s underwater,” he added.

Currently, several resorts and dive partners are offering dive and accommodation packages that include, airport transfers, meals, wellness treatments, sunset cruises and other activities. Among the resorts participating in DiveFest 2018 are the BodyHoliday – Scuba, Marigot Beach Club & Dive Resort, Island Divers at Ti Kaye Resort & Spa, Windjammer Landing, Sugar Beach – A Viceroy Resort, Rendezvous and Dive Adventures.

The SLTA will also welcome some dive shop owners and operators for a familiarization visit to the island as part of the event.
