Saint Lucia lost second match in Caribbean Netball Association’s Tournament

Saint Lucia lost their second match in the Caribbean Netball Association’s Jean Pierre Under-16 tournament on Tuesday night.

Playing against as yet unbeaten Barbados, the home team went down 29-16 at the Vigie sports complex.

Barbados led comfortably in every quarter, 11-3; 17-7; 23-11. Barbados goal shoot Romancia Odisin scored 22 from 24 attempts, while goal attack Trishan Deane assisted with 7-14.

For Saint Lucia, goal shoot Kamala Mangal made both her shots on goal, but she was repeatedly denied the ball, and was replaced by Kiana Nelson. Nelson got off just five shots, making one. Goal attack Tanny William carried the bulk of the shooting, making 13 of 16.

Dominica drew with Grenada 22-22, after playing from behind for most of the game, and trailing by three going into the final period.

St Vincent and the Grenadines, buoyed by their inspirational win against Saint Lucia, made light work of Bermuda to defeat them 38-21.

Saint Lucia, currently sitting in third, will play Grenada on Wednesday evening at Vigie.
