Saint Lucia lose CONCACAF Women’s Under-17 opener

Saint Lucia gots its 2015 CONCACAF Under-17 Tournament underway on Wednesday in Paramaribo, Suriname, against the home team.

Uncer pouring rain, Suriname opened the scoring in the first half at the Franklin Essed Stadium, Saint Lucia failing to clear from a corner, and Brigitte Righters slotting home. But the hosts were unable to add to the scoreline before halftime.

In the second half, though, Suriname scored through Chayenne Dompig pff a free kick, Channia Tjeon A Choy picking up a loose ball, Dompig with another free kick, and Brandy Renfrum, to finish 5-0.

Saint Lucia plays Jamaica in the early game on Friday.

In the first game on Wednesday, Jamaica came from behind to beat Barbados 2-1. On Friday, Suriname plays Barbados.
