Monday, February 22nd, is Independence Day in Saint Lucia; and as such several events have been planned around the island to mark this historic, national occasion.

Acting Chief Fire Officer Lambert Charles says all hands will be on deck.

“Apart from participating in the Military Parade, the Fire Service will have personnel on active duty at all the activities on the Independence Programme. However, we are reminding the public to take the necessary precautions in order to keep themselves, family members, property and their surroundings safe.  We also want to remind drivers and other road users to exercise a high level of caution on the road. Please do not drink and drive.”

Independence activities kicked off in early February and will culminate in March, 2016.
