(SNO) – Some employees of insurance giant, Sagicor General’s Barbados, in Saint Lucia may soon be searching for employment as it announced that it will be undergoing a reconstructing process.
Employees in Barbados may also be affected.
President and CEO of the company, Keston Howell said in a statement that the decision was taken after a strategic review of the company’s operations and employees here in Saint Lucia are on the chopping block.
“We sincerely value the contributions of our team and will ensure that the affected team members receive the necessary guidance and support to assist them through this process,” he said.
He explained that the restructuring process of Sagicor was in response to an “ultra-competitive market” and the company is seeking to “improve customer experience and deliver superior value”.
“The company is focused on the delivery of exceptional service to its clients and is continuously reviewing operations to improve efficiencies,” the statement by Howell stated.
Sagicor operates in Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, St Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago.
