(PRESS RELEASE) – During this COVID-19 pandemic, there are so many new norms to get used to; working from home, wearing masks, constant hand washing, online home schooling to name a few, however there is one norm that is not new to us at SLALA, and that is the wonderful support and consideration of other organizations.

Many, if not all of our members are truly confined to home quarantine, because they are immunocompromised and make up part of the vulnerable population at high risk for severe complications of COVID-19. Many are also vulnerable because of their social situations.

The St. Lucia Arthritis and Lupus Association therefore, takes this opportunity to express its gratitude to the Rotary Club of Gros Islet for the generous contribution of ten (10) hampers and medication towards assisting some of our members in need. All this following their motto of “Service above self”. This generous contribution enabled us to give hope and share love with some of our members who are facing a greater challenge during this Covid-19 Pandemic.

The contributions of organizations such as the Rotary Club assists greatly in providing services to our members whilst fulfilling our mission of providing comfort, motivation and education for persons with Arthritis, Lupus and other related illnesses such that their quality of life may be improved.

Once again, thank you to the Rotary Club of Gros Islet for assisting us in this mission.
