Herbert Roserie will lead the ruling Saint Lucia Labour Party’s challenge in Micoud North in the next general elections.
Roserie will terminate his employment soon, according to Prime Minister and SLP Leader Dr. Kenny Anthony in announcing Roserie’s candidacy at the party’s annual conference at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds, Vieux Fort on Sunday.
Roserie, a teacher and member of the Micoud North Constituency Council, will hope to unseat incumbent Dr. Gale Rigobert.
Dr. Rigobert is currently the country’s opposition leader and first deputy political leader of the United Workers Party (UWP).
Jeannine -Antoine, daughter of former Prime Minister John Compton, is the other candidate for Micoud North. She announced last November that she will run as an independent candidate.
Roserie served as a member of the Banana Industry Strategy Task Force during the SLP Administration of 2001-2006.
