(PRESS RELEASE) — The Ministry of Infrastructure has commenced a Road Marking Programme that serves to improve commuter safety.
This past Sunday (March 10), road marking was undertaken between the Choc and Sunny Acres roundabouts.
Minister for Infrastructure Hon. Stephenson King said: “The initiative will enhance all edge and center lines, all lane and directional arrows, all hatch lines and pedestrian crossings, as we continue to endeavor to make Saint Lucia better.
“The aim is to improve road safety for all commuters, cognizant that road markings give important information and instructions to motorists and drivers about vehicle positioning, road alignment and other vital road information.”
In the coming weeks, work will continue along the Castries-Gros Islet and John Compton highways, the western section of Jeremie Street that intersects with Peynier and Bridge Street, Manoel Street, Inner Relief Road, and will end at the Banannes roundabout.
