Review of Tuesday’s National Men’s Basketball League

Two games were scheduled last evening in the National Men’s Basketball League:

In Premier League action at the Vigie Multipurpose Sports Complex, VBCC won by default versus a no show BBC. And in Division One action at the Gros Islet Facility, ISE Club kept their undefeated streak alive when they rallied late against Veterans to win 64-58.

Veterans led for most of the fourth quarter but with the game tied at 58 apiece, a 3-point go ahead field goal was nailed by Lance Prospere of ISE to put them in command with .45secs left in regulation.

Veterans missed some critical free throws down the stretch and ISE sealed the victory themselves on the free throw line with a final score of 64-58.

For ISE their Monster Player of the Game was Joel Polius with his double-double of 19pts and 13rebs. Lance Prospere also chipped in with good long range shooting going 5/9 from long distance for his 16pts and 3 steals.

For Veterans, it was Marcellus Steide playing like it’s 1989 with a double-double of 18pts and 14rebs. He was aided by point guard Dexter Cumberbatch with some timely shooting for his 13pts and 3assists, which proved not enough in the end for Veterans.

Two games continue in both Premier League this Thursday April 25th:

Canaries Moon River Champs vs. BBC
7 pm at the Vigie Complex

Dennery vs. Babonneau Dynasty
7 pm in Dennery
