

Following a short opening ceremony the action and excitement began in front of an appreciative crowd with 2nd tier teams FAITH UNITED and NEW D KNIGHTS battling at 6 p.m.
It took FAITH UNITED just 22 minutes to open the scoring through #12 Omar Andrew, one minutes later in the 23rd minute #18 Edmund Alcindor put FAITH 2-0 up.
On the half hour #13 Lurick Simon added a third putting the issue beyond doubt. Half time 3-0 in favour of FAITH UNITED. The talented FAITH UNITED squad wrapped it all up with a 75th minute goal by #19 Demitri Modeste. For New D Knights there was no response except going back to the drawing boards.
The top tier game at 8 p.m. saw that GHETTO STARS prevailed 3-0 in the second encounter of the night labelled “Battle of the stars” over rivals FAY STARS, newly crowned champions of the veterans cup.
FAY STARS never recovered from a 25th minute strike by #15 Ned Etan. Number 8 Sege Felix netted a second in the 29th minute. Half time score 2-0 in favour of GHETTO STARS.
Second half substitute #9 Eric Francois scored a third goal in the 76th minute putting the issue to bed and sending FAY STARS licking their wounds.
