Results in KFC Commercial Basketball League

PRESS RELEASE – A total of four games continued this past weekend at the Beausejour Indoor Facility in the KFC Commercial Basketball League.

Action tipped off in Group A on Friday evening with Renwick edging past Sandals Trail Blazers 50 – 47.  A closely fought encounter throughout was secured at the free throw line when KFC Player of the Game Durocher Antoine sealed the victory with scores tied at 47 apiece.

Durocher converted 1 of 2 free throws followed by a key 2-point field goal to break free from the Trail Blazers.  He finished the game with 14pts, 9rebs and 6 assists and Larry Shepherd contributed with a double- double of 15pts and 10rebs for Renwick.

The lone player in double figures for Sandals was Simeon Medard with 22pts and 9rebs.

Game 2 of the evening saw reigning champions RSLPF thump ECFH 72 – 38.  A business-like performance by Police needing a huge point spread margin to leap out of 4th position in group A.

KFC Player of the Game for Police was Amil Octave with a game high 27pts, 7 steals and 7 assists.  Shervon Matthew also had a strong game for Police with 20pts and 10rebs.  Troy Louison led the scoring for ECFH with 13pts and 5rebs.

On Saturday, Digicel 4G kept their perfect start to the tournament alive when they rallied late to defeat Goddard Group 55 – 48.  With the win Digicel improves to 3-0 and take top position in Group B with them remaining one game in the group stages.

KFC Player of the Game was Jermile Daniel with 12pts and 5rebs for Digicel.  He was aided by Wenal Alfred with 16pts and 5rebs in their win.  For Goddard, Andre Louison had 17pts, 11rebs and 6 steals and Ali Quinlan added 14pts and 8rebs in their loss.

Game 2 of Saturday’s double header featured action in Group C with LIME facing Sandals High Risers.  Up 13 at the end of the third quarter, the High Risers limited LIME to a 4-point fourth quarter and rout them 72 – 43 when the final whistle was blown.

KFC Player of the Game for Sandals High Risers Gaspard Thomas had a monster game scoring 24pts and 16rebs and Casim James added 17pts and 11rebs.  Leading the scoring for LIME was Nicholas Inglis with 16pts and 5rebs in their loss.
