RESULTS: Gros Islet District Representative Football Competition Dec. 20

unnamedPRESS RELEASE – The Gros Islet Football League District Representative and St. Lucia National Lottery Invitational Football Tournament Grand Finals took place on Sunday 20th December at the Gros Islet Playing Field.

The 1st game featured the 3rd place play off with Beausejour FC vs Dominators Youths.  The 1st half saw Dominators Youths taking the lead in the 16th minutes with a goal from Quain Philogene ending the 1st half 1-0.  unnamed (2)

The 2nd half saw Beausejour FC equalised with a goal from Mc Gyver St. Clair in the 48th minutes, but Dominators Youths scored more goals from Quain Philogene in the 66th and 67th minutes giving him a Hat Trick and a goal from Chris Gabriel in the 57th minutes and Shadley James in the 70th minutes ending the game with a win for Dominators Youths 5-1.

The Grand Finals featured Super J Northern United vs GMC United. At the end of the 1st half the score was 0-0.  The 2nd half saw Super J Northern United taking the lead with a penalty from Everton Lambert in the 64th minutes.  No more goals were scored giving Super J Northern United the win of the Grand Finals over GMC United 1-0.

The Prize Giving Ceremony following the Grand Finals of the Gros Islet District Representative Football Competition started with Remarks from Mr. Charde Desir representative of the SLFA, Mr. Shane Paul President of the Gros Islet Football League and the main sponsor of the Event the Gros Islet District Representative Miss Emma Hippolyte.  Following the remarks the Trophies and Medals were presented to individuals and Teams:

Most Improved Player – Sebastien Ribot – GMC United

Most Outstanding Player – Tyrece Kimani Jeremie – GMC United

MVP Finals – Caster James – Super J Northern United

Most Goals – Troy Greenidge – Super J Northern United

Coach of the Season – Francis “aka” Panco – Super J Northern United

Fair Play Award – GMC United

3rd Place – Dominators Youths

2nd Place – GMC United

1st Place – Super J Northern United

At the end of the Prize giving Ceremony entertainment featured a Fashion Show, The Ashanti and the Mighty and Surbance.  The Gros Islet Football League would like to express its appreciation to the Main Sponsors of the Event Miss Emma Hippolyte, the St Lucia National Lotteries and the Executive of the Gros Islet Football League, Performers, Referees, Ground Staff and the large crowd which turned out for the Event.
