Results from Tuesday games in the KFC National Basketball League

PRESS RELEASE – The regular season ended last evening in the KFC National Basketball League with two Division One games.

At Gros Islet, Micoud Hustlerz got a much needed win over Sandals in a low scoring but entertaining battle 59 – 57. The KFC Player of the Game from Micoud was Chris Francois with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Ulric Joseph also chipped in with a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds for Micoud. Cassim James was a force in the middle for Sandals with 17 points and 19 rebounds, but proved too little against the determined Hustlerz.

At the Vigie Sports Complex, Combined Schools put their perfect five wins undefeated streak up against Lions. Lions came out on top in that game with an impressive 17-point double digit win over schools handing them their first loss in regular season play. Final score 83 – 66 in favour of Lions. Neil Verdant with his 26 points and six rebounds was named the KFC Player of the Game for Lions. Jadson Montoute top scored with 19 points and 15 rebounds for Combined Schools.

Playoff semi-finals to begin on Saturday, May 24 at the Beausejour Indoor Facility. Teams securing their place in the semi-finals for both Divison One and the premier league will be announced in a subsequent release.
