PRESS RELEASE – Two games featured on Saturday April 26th in two different locations.  In Gros Islet, Lions faced Sandals in an important game for both clubs trying to secure their place in the semi finals of this year’s Division One league.

A closely fought battle was decided by Lions edging out Sandals with a 57 – 50 win. In Dennery, home team Dennery Dolphins and VBCC Warlords were locked in a closer encounter in Premier League action, with a solitary point deciding the outcome 72 – 71 with the VBCC Warlords stealing one against home favourites Dennery.

On Sunday, April 27, two double-headers at Micoud and the Vigie Sports Complex was the focus of attention as teams continue to fight for their place in the last four.  In Division One action in Micoud, home team Micoud Hustlerz went down versus the impressive and unscathed Combined Schools 78 – 67 in game one of the night’s double-header.  And in game two, Combined Forces grabbed a much needed win over Maranatha Eagles 72 – 58.

At the Vigie Sports Complex in Premier League action, Morne Gladiators were victorious over Soufriere Sulphur Stars in a low scoring game 54 – 46.  KFC Player of the Game Craig Duplessis led all scorers in that game averaging 50 percent from three-point range 6/12 for his 18 points and two rebounds.  Linzel Alcee had a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds for Soufriere in their loss.

Game two of the night still at the complex featured defending champions Courts Jets squaring up against Babonneau Dynasty.  The Jets overcame a first half deficit to outlast the Dynasty 91 – 71 and stay unbeaten in this year’s tournament.  KFC Player of the Game Andre Louison led Courts Jets to victory with 17 points, five rebounds and four steals. Keegan Preville also chipped in with 17 points and seven rebounds for the Jets.  Mervin Augustin had 19 points and five rebounds for Babonneau in a losing effort.

Two rained out games are now rescheduled for Tuesday, April 29 and are as follows:

Soufriere vs VBCC at 7 p.m. Soufriere
Dennery vs Morne at 7 p.m. Vigie Sports Complex
