Republic of China (Taiwan) to launch e-Visa for St. Lucians

2016-01-06 14_24_01-線上填寫簽證申請系統PRESS RELEASE – Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) is going to launch e-Visa for the nationals of Saint Lucia starting from the date of 12th January, 2016.

E-Visa is an alternative to a paper-based visa. Applicant should fill out an online visa application form on the website of Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA) of the ROC (Taiwan) Ministry of Foreign Affairs (www.boca.gov.tw).

To obtain an e-Visa, applicants must submit relevant personal information and pay the required fee(if applicable) by credit card (MasterCard or Visa). However, Saint Lucia is one of the countries whose citizens will not be charged by the ROC (Taiwan) Government for applying e-Visa. The e-Visa will be issued after the submitted information has been assessed and found to meet relevant criteria.

The validity of an e-Visa is three months starting from the issue date. The e-Visa is a single-entry visa, and the maximum duration of stay in Taiwan is 30 days, which cannot be extended.

Please note that e-Visas are only granted for tourism and business purposes, as well as for visiting relatives and attending international conferences or sporting events in Taiwan. Applicant who intends to travel to Taiwan for other purposes—such as employment, study, residence with family, or Mandarin language courses must submit an application for a related visa at this Embassy.

Furthermore, foreign nationals who have been invited to attend international conferences or activities in Taiwan—organized, co-organized, or sponsored by central government agencies or certain nongovernmental organizations—are also eligible for an e-Visa.

  1. DURATION OF VISA IS TOO SHORT. BUT THIS IS AN EXCELLENT IDEA. 3 MONTHS MAXIMUM WOULD BE A BETTER OPTION.
