GIS – Students and teachers have been relocated to the Vieux-Fort Primary and Vieux-Fort Comprehensive schools during the extensive restoration project that includes a computer lab upgrade.
Renovation work at the Vieux Fort Infant school has begun.
The extensive restoration project includes the refurbishment of the corroded steel on the main classroom block; replacement of louvers; construction of suspended ceilings; installation of canopies; upgrades of the building’s electrical system, washrooms, floor and wall surfaces and computer lab; and the construction of staff washrooms at ground floor level.
The renovation is being undertaken at a cost of $1,724,681.45 and is funded by the Caribbean Development Bank.
The Office of the Prime Minister stated that following an international competitive bidding process based on CBD guidelines, Renee Construction Ltd. was awarded the contract, with a targeted completion date of Oct. 2015.
The students and teachers of Vieux Fort Infant have been relocated to Vieux-Fort Primary and Vieux-Fort Comprehensive for the duration of the project.
