Ravine Chabot man accused of stabbing

Bus driver Moses Francis Leon of Ravine Chabot, Castries has been committed to stand trial for intentionally causing dangerous harm to Gabriel Augustin of the same area.

It is alleged that the incident began when Augustin intervened in a dispute between Leon and his girlfriend. The incident took place at the home of the girlfriend’s father where Augustin was a guest at the time.

Upon intervention, it is alleged that the defendant used a knife and caused several wounds to Augustin. The wounds included a laceration to the right side of the neck as well as perforation of the small bowel.

Augustin spent eight days at Victoria Hospital where he underwent surgery and was treated for other minor injuries.

Leon, who is currently on remand, will return to court on June 28, 2013 for a report on his indictment and continuation of this matter.
