Nathan ‘Q’ Duncan, the man accused of shooting three people and killing one, today, Thursday, April 25, 2013 made his first appearance in the First District Court in Castries.
He was not required to plea to the charges because they are indictable (must go to trial). He has been remanded at Bordelais Correctional Facility until his next court appearance on May 25, 2013.
Duncan is charged with the murder of 22-year-old Krystal ‘Xotic P’ Felix of Reduit, Gros Islet; the attempted murder of 21-year-old Yannick Sylvester aka Coco of City Gate, La Clery, and attempted murder of Nigel Acthile, 35, of Georgeville, as well as the rape of a female.
In court today, the rape charge was not mentioned however a police press release distributed shortly after stated that rape is among the charges.
Police have not released details of the rape allegation and do not usually do so for such cases.
Duncan was shot by the police during an operation on Grass Street, Castries on Friday, April 12 at about 3 p.m. He sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was admitted at Victoria Hospital under heavy security.
Police said the operation on Grass Street was in relation to the April 1 shooting at Auberge Seraphine in which Felix was killed and two others sustained injuries.
Reports indicate that a gunman fired several shots in the direction of passengers getting off a boat.
