Public Service win Small Goals Tourney

In the first ever Ministry of the Public Service, Information & Broadcasting Small Goals Tournament, team Public Service took home the champions cup at the finals held recently at the indoor facility, Beausejour Cricket Grounds.

In an exciting finish against team Police Force, Public Service held its own as the two strongest teams of the tourney battled for supremacy. The match ended goalless at the regulation 40 minutes. The determination of both teams to win was evident as the same result ensued following extra time. The final would have to be decided by a penalty shootout.

In the end Public Service won 2-1 on the best of three penalty attempts.

Third place in the tournament proved to be a more decisive performance for team National Initiative to Create Employment, NICE – they emerged victorious over team Health in a 2-0 result.

The following are the finals results of the MOPS Small Goals Tourmament:

1st Place – Public Service – Trophy, Gold medals and $750

2nd Place – Police Force – Trophy, Silver medals and $500

3rd Place – NICE – Trophy, Bronze medals and $350
