Desmond Duboulay, proprietor of Duboulay’s Building Supplies in New Development, Soufriere, has been airlifted to a hospital in the north of the island for further treatment after he was stabbed this morning, Saturday, April 20, 2013.

Duboulay, otherwise known as ‘Fats’, was transported to Soufriere Hospital after the stabbing, but was later flown by helicopter to Tapion Hospital in Castries after he was stabilised. He remains in serious condition, however.

Details of the stabbing are sketchy at this moment but St. Lucia News Online will await more concrete information and release it as soon as it becomes available.

  1. Zadia - do you know the facts for sure? If not, then how about you keep your opinion to yourself?

An opnion without the full knowledge is a dangerous combination.

  2. Re: Truth Exposed I'm not saying that it is the right way to do things or he was right to get stabbed ok all I'm saying is show people respect and treat them fairly. Not because you are rich and have power that you can do what you want and treat people bad like they have no meaning because you know even if they go to the law and try to get justice the right way it won't work because of your influence and who you are. Some people would say ok and let things go to God but others would react the best and only way they know and that's by violence. So I'm begging them please stop this practice because it can be dangerous to them, their children and everybody who is near and dear to them. If you think I'm joking all revolutions and uprising all started by people being oppressed without any form of justice being served to them and the started doing violent things to the rich and influential. That's all I'm saying here is the truth we must all treat each other fairly and the way which we would like to be treated simple as that. Especially now when so many are walking the streets smiling but deep down inside they are dying and their sanity is only holding on by a thread.

  3. One of the greatest demotivators for any citizen in St. Lucia who wants to be an entrepreneur... you're doing well and immediately you have to be looking to arm yourself. Really sad about that... hope Mr. Duboulay recovers fully. We have too many sick people out there.

  4. We St. Lucians (majority) still have savage ways about us. Our first response when we DON'T get our way to resort to violence. Why is this? THIS CYCLE HAS TO BE BROKEN. This is one attribute we DON'T need or should pass on to our children. Mr. Customer, tell me how prison is, because that is where you're headed. Hope you didn't pass on to your kids your way of handling disappointment.

  5. Look at what I reading here eh. So because he is wealthy and he 'have' it makes it ok to stab a man. That is our solution? We poor so we will stab you? Tired of him rubbing his wealth in your face? This is what SLU has come to? I understand the man wanted lumber delivered immediately, they explained to him that they cannot deliver lumber in RAINY conditions - any idiot knows that. So they offered him a store credit to do the delivery on a later date. In the business - all sales are FINAL. That is how business WORKS. Stop this sense of entitlement NONSENSE lucians! JEEZ! So you vex the police ain do nothing, so you pull out a knife and try to KILL the man. That will surely get you back your money right? We really living in a jungle for true. Violence Violence. Thats the answer to everything? I dont like your business policies, so I go stab you? Cuz I feel like I been taken for a fool? So that means since I feel governtment taking so much taxes from me and robbin me blind, I should go up in there and stab them? YALL REALLY DONT THINK! Wake Up Lucians!

  6. To all of you adding all sorts of stories together please get your facts straight. And those of you who condon this guy's act woe unto you evil doers and thinkers. Becareful when you praise evil works for evil works will be done unto you. This has nothing to do about rich and poor. This guy had all intentions of committing murder but lo and behold the hand of God is stronger than that of Satan. The Lord gives and takes away. Satan does not have that authority. I pray a conviction over this guys life as he gets all the time he needs to think locked up.

  7. Stop the violence. WE NEED TO EXERCISE SELF CONTROL. If you walk with a weapon, you have intentions to use it.

  9. I don't know what transpired here but about 3 ppl came up with something and no one else has disputed it so i guess it might be true. For too long the wealthy, lawyers, business ppl and so on have being taking ppl for fun and games in St.Lucia because they have power and position and they feel you the poor man or non influential person can do nothing about it. But little do they know that ppl are frustrated especially now when nothing is running and money is so hard to come by. I feel is about time the stop this practice because so many ppl right now are walking all over this place called St.Lucia with little but a strand of hair holding them together and then they have to face ppl doing them shit and there's nothing they can do about it. But I must warn those who do things like this to remember crime and violence don't segregate like ya'll they go behind rich and poor and it's just a matter of time when someone gets so frustrated and decides to end your life and maybe your family along with you. also the friends of those who practice this please don't call the people who do those crimes all kinds of names and also foolish because if ya'll had really care ya'll would have tried to stop them from doing ppl that early instead of keep quiet and sometimes laughing at it.

    • No better way to put it. We don't wish bad for anyone but at the same time don't sympathise with those who think they can walk over others with wealth or status. Can't take it to the grave with you. Lucians need to stop kissing the rich and status related ppl ass we make those ppl who they are!and they the ones who continue growing and we trail behind them. My sister died in a car crash which was more severe than a stabbing she had to bloody wait for a dumb ass long ambulance, who said we couldn't pay for the air ambulance but we were not given the option at all and we asked. She died as a result. Treat ppl fair and he wouldn't get what was coming for him. He has a history only a few people know about which will eventually catch up and bite him in the ass. Tough to those who may not like my comment I didn't post it for likes or favourites!!!

  11. I think Conflict Resolution (and French) should be a requisite like English and Math from preschool until graduation, you fail..you repeat the damn class. People should learn how to manage their anger.

  13. I am so freaking pissed off. What the f**k u stabbing the man for. F**king idiot you. I hope you get what's coming for you. Pretty surprising douboulay didn't shoot your ass. Its like st.lucia haven't got enough crime and violence yet. Learn to speak and co-operate people. It doesn't make sense retaliating in a senseless way and then you hv to waste a few years of your life at bordelais. Wat sense does that make. Wudnt it hv been easier if you sorted this dispute out in a better way or if douboulay was not concerned about your query, y didn't u take it to the police. Sighhhhhhh. So freaking frustrated and pissed.

  14. Fats was stabbed by an irate customer who demanded immediate delivery of goods purchased to its destination. The business responded indicating that was unable to meet that demand after which the customer stabbed him. Too many people walking around loaded with "issues", "frustration", "problems". Our nation is void of positive spirit and conscience. Wish him well by God's grace.

  15. So sad it didn't have to get to that. Hope he's OK. If he did not have the materials why did he refused to give the guy his money back. That's how business people operates in St Lucia??????? And the police saying they could not do anything for the guy. So I guess the guy retaliated.

  16. Do you know what transpired between them to put such a comment. Ppl can do fuck up things for little or no reason at all. That's why the law is there to protect. Now he has to face the consequences, right or wwrong.

  17. its sad this things happen here but i guess when u play people a fool sometimes you get those who do retaliate gotta be careful

    • The policemen are responsible for such a henious act. If the customer came to them, they were suppose to do something about it so they are the ones who caused the man to stab the business man.
