PRESS RELEASE: Sports enthusiasts launch aquatics based beach camp

Dubbed the Pee Wee Pirates Sports Camp by its organizers, this aquatics-centered camp endeavours to explore the full benefits of swimming, lifesaving (water safety) and kayaking.

The camp is balanced with the fun fundamentals of beach volleyball, beach tennis, beach cricket and beach football – all aimed at getting kids engaged in beach related physical activities.

This camp is headed by Aquatics Development Officer of SLASA, and Swim Coach, Yasmin Tyson. She is assisted by a team of qualified coaches, lifeguards, teachers, chaperones and sports personnel. Kids will have the opportunity to earn the Swim to Survive Certificate from the St. Lucia Life Saving Association and as well as a competency based Swimming Certificate identifying the skills they have mastered.

Then camp will be held from July 24 to August 4 at the Pigeon Island Causeway near the Landings Resort. It will commence from 9:00am and concludes at 2:00pm. Campers will be provided with transportation to and from the Derek Walcott Square.

Safety and Fun is our priority. Skills learnt at this camp will make a difference in the lives of our participants.
