Mere days after he was crowned the 2017 Road March King of Saint Lucia with his hit song “Sully” – a career nineteenth title – Ricky T was back on the road to continue the Freaky Girls Tour he began one year ago in July 2016.
The tour continued on the heels of a very successful Saint Lucia Carnival season. In addition to winning his eighth Road March title, Ricky T was also crowned the Power Soca Monarch with the Studio 758/Stratosphere Muzic produced song “Drunkard”. That win brought the number of Power Soca Monarch titles he now has to six.
Ricky T also performed at a number of shows for Saint Lucia Carnival including at its launch event Epic Wednesday as well as Cooler Fete, U4Ria, Sexy In Black, Remedy and Aura.
Unfortunately, a planned performance at Wet Fete had to be missed when the show was moved and clashed with a previously booked appearance at Soca On De Hill in Barbados.
Ricky T closed out the July leg of the Freaky Girls Tour with performances in St Eustatius, Barbados and Antigua.
In August, the tour continues at five events in Canada for Caribana followed by a show during Crop Over in Barbados where he will also be on the road with Krave Carnival band before he returns to Saint Lucia on August 10 for a CPL show at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground.
Ricky T is also scheduled to perform in Connecticut and the Montreal International Reggae Festival alongside reggae icons Sanchez and Tanya Stephens as well as Ultimate Rejects and Linky First. On August 20, he makes a tour stop at the Karukera One Love Music Festival in Guadeloupe before jetting off to London for the Kassav Carnival Weekend and the Hot Carnival Party – Beach Edition before being on the road for Nottinghill Carnival on August 28.
The Freaky Girls Tour has dates well into 2018 and includes shows during Labour Day in New York and Miami Carnival.
