PRESS RELEASE: NWU and Ti Kaye Resort reach agreement

The Management of Ti Kaye Resort & Spa and officials from the National Workers Union (NWU) met at the NWU’s Conference Room on Friday July 28, 2017.

The parties discussed the industrial misunderstanding which affected the company’s operations.

The union and the company agreed to return things to normalcy effective immediately and that going forward communication links between the entities must be improved.

The Hotel and the Union will meet on August 3, 2017 to settle all outstanding industrial issues.

Cause the salary is low and with three or less days work 5 or 7 dollars per hour is just not cutting it,we need the increase and to make it worse this is the time they are bringing foreign white manager's with no experience our supervisor's are the ones teaching them and their salaries is 6000.00 u.s dollars eh for what ! Uh if a supervisor can train you the supervisor can be promoted, for both restaurant dive shop and ground's ,and managers don't get cut out their hour's at all, and thats not fair to us line staff after all we are doing all the hard work,

    • When will the local tourism and hospitality industry focus on developing the talent of its own employees who have a vested interest in the product and our destination, rather than importing expatriate "talent" who in some cases know less than local talent and who have no vested interest in anything other than themselves. Must be a concerted effort across the board.

    • Hotel industry is just the slave masters paradise.. hotel use and abuse staff...and expect to us to serve da whites with a smile!!!
