Miguel Edward’s case was adjourned until November 14, 2012.
Edward was charged for grievous bodily harm in which he is accused of stabbing Clayton Sylvester of Sunbilt during an altercation that occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Friday, November 2 on Bay Street, Gros Islet.
Police say Edward was shot by task force officers who were on mobile patrol near where the stabbing took place.
“As a result of the altercation Miguel Edwards was shot by the police,” a police press release stated.
Both men were treated at Victoria Hospital and released.

Police like the idea of shooting people. Most of these police officers have a serious discipline problem. They just plain blank wicked. We need to start bringing charges against them but then and again they work together always have another officer to cover their dirty work for them and the system is to damn slow.
ole groove daman do dat !
it's quite interesting how police officers just shoot a person, and give petty excuses as to why. i wonder what happens to the people who becomes officers cause it seems to me they have no mind at all of what they are doing, it's like they're possess. how do people expect crime to stop if they can't deal with it in a more suitable manner. why all the time a shooting, who knows, maybe the officers are playing a game to see how many each of them can shoot before they are resigned. this is my opinion. i'm not against correction or justice but i haven't seen it in St.Lucian since the government gave officers right to kill civilians like birds. a family has been a victim of it, and yes he deserved to be punished for his actions, but what puzzles me is how it was reported he was shot in the legs but died! really! is that what happened. the criminals and police officers needs to realize there's a god and nothing stays in the dark, i guess it's more to add to my prayer list.
lol...are you saying that a man cannot die, if he has been shot in his leg? 🙂
people jus think from their point of view and not the police officers view, sometimes you have to protect yourself because what if he tried to rush on the police officers to stab them also.what would you have done????????????????????
I cant think why a man could be under Investigation, and still be shot by police, are the police really thinking of the actions they take, while Investigating people for crimes, cause some of them are really going over Board now with they reckless shooting of people.
there is no human rights in st.lucia, shamely the police do their own thing
lot ah them go on like bad man so take shot
am curious as to why he was shot, police always shooting somebody in lucia
