Police press release on fatal accident involving elderly pedestrian

On Saturday, November 22, 2014, about 6:15 p.m., Officers attached to the Marigot Police Station responded to an accident which occurred at Coolie Town, Marigot.

The accident involved a motor cycle registration number PG 3111, driven by 24-year-old Janii Bertrand of Marigot and a pedestrian, 61-year-old Donald Henry of Ciceron, Castries.

As a result of the accident, Henry sustained serious injuries and was transported to Victoria Hospital via ambulance where he was treated and admitted. He later succumbed to his injuries, whilst admitted at the said hospital.

Janii Bertrand is currently in police custody assisting police with their investigations. This is the 18th road fatal accident recorded thus far for 2014.

  1. janii just finish take a plock recently almost losing a toe...de man back on de same bike again...this time u take out an ole man...weh masiay with them yutes...every time i seeing that bike on the stretch i would swear it about to take off too...look speed wii...sometimes i wonder if them fellas have life insurance plus bike insurance
