Police Commissioner Vernon Francois has responded to recent public criticisms regarding the information blackout on a drug bust conducted on Marisule Beach on Sunday, April 28.
The bust was reportedly one of the largest conducted here in recent memory. Some 200 kilos of cocaine was seized.
Commissioner Francois says the Police Force is not withholding information from the public, however there was need for caution because the investigation is active with arrests to be made.
On the public speculation of the involvement of a prominent citizen, the top cop says he is not aware of this, and had that been the case, the Force would not be interested in shielding the individual.
St. Lucia News Online understands that at least two persons were arrested at the time of the operation.
