PRESS RELEASE – PRAYER IS THE BEST COMFORTER

“Today, November 10, 2014, is the third anniversary of the Morne Sion Tragedy, where nineteen Saint Lucians lost their lives in Choiseul. Three years later, hearts and homes remain empty and many are struggling to come to terms with their loss.

On this day, I call on all to spare a moment to offer prayers for the souls of the departed and the families and communities affected by this tragedy. Share a word of comfort with the children, parents, friends and other loved ones who were left behind to redefine life after this dreadful day.

In times like these we must set aside all differences to hold and support each other.

It is my sincere hope that with the completion of the Symbol of Faith which has been commissioned to mark this tragedy, we will in future remember this day in a more collective manner.”

I dont work and didnt even get compensated by the insurance makes lossing my people more of a headache for me.... passanges families earned a living from the passing of my father, step mom and sister, two brothers and 1 year old sister never to haven been found...I dont think its been 3 years for me but only 3 mins living in struggle!

  3. You mean we still have such small minded people in this country? anyway I do not blame them, because that was what was spewing from the mouths of politicians at a public meeting of the UWP that same night.

  10. Just by coincidence the tragic Morne Sion vehicle accident which occurred on 10th November , 2011 (10-11-11)and claimed 17 lives can be remembered as the accident of 10-11.

We remember the St.Jude's Hospital Fire as Saint Lucia's 9/99 (from 9-9-2009) in a similar way that the Americans refer to the terrorists attacks of September 11, 2001 as 9/11.

So now we have 9/99 from the St. Jude's Fire and 10/11 from the Morne Sion accident.

May their souls rest in peace.

  12. 17 lives were taken for the sake of power but every dog has its day. I wonder how these labour politicians sleep at nights. Those responsible have theirs coming. May their souls rest in peace.
