PRESS RELEASE – Canada’s General Elections were concluded on Monday, October 19, 2015. The Liberal Party, led by 43-year-old Justin Trudeau, will form the next Government of that nation.

Justin Trudeau, son of late Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, is the new Prime Minister.

Justin Trudeau will be the second-youngest Prime Minister in Canada’s history and the first to follow a parent. His father led Canada almost unbroken from 1968 to 1984.

Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Kenny D. Anthony, has offered his congratulations to the new Government of Canada, and Prime Minister Trudeau.

Said Dr. Anthony, “On behalf of the Government and people of Saint Lucia, it is my great pleasure to extend congratulations to the Liberal Party and to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for the overwhelming victory of his party at the recently concluded General Elections in Canada. A strong message has been sent by the people of Canada, and we wish the new Government the very greatest of success.

“It is to be hoped that this new Government will work closely with the governments of the Caribbean towards our mutual development and prosperity. Canada and Saint Lucia have historically been good, solid friends, and we look forward to working with Prime Minister Trudeau to build on the very solid foundations of friendship laid by his father and former Prime Minister Chretin.

“In recent years, Canada has provided leadership training for our police; they have supported our young entrepreneurs through the Caribbean Local Economic Development Project (CARILED); and Canada has been growing in importance as one of our major tourism markets.

“We are surely pleased to know that incoming Prime Minister Trudeau is among the vanguard of world leaders speaking out on climate change, which has such a profound effect on small island developing states.”

The Liberals captured 184 of the 388 seats in the Canadian House of Commons, as that country had its highest voter turnout since 1993. The Conservative Party, under former Prime Minister Stephen Harper, won 99 seats, and the New Democrats 44.

Subsequent to the elections, the Associated Press informed audiences worldwide about the Richard Nixon prophecy – a toast at a state dinner in 1972, when Justin Trudeau was a few months old, that the child would become Prime Minister someday.

  1. lets see what the drama teacher will do i am soo not holding my breath that he will be able to do the job.
He has just said that he wants 25000 Syrian refugees in Canada by the end of the year how in hell can he vet that many people in two months???. Without a doubt isis and isis sympathizers will infiltrate those numbers and then let the bombing begin.
Dont get me wrong i am all for helping those unfortunate people are caught up in that refugee mess but lets take "Steven Harper's" cautious approach and check these people out very carefully.

As for the economy well Greece here we come......................................but he has nice hair though.

  2. The story in Canada was, that the people grew a great dislike for the last
Prime Minister, Mr. Harper. This is always dangerous for any Party. He had
been in there for 9 years, and along with his strong right wing attitude, he
became arrogant with it. He was relentless with his attack on the much younger
opponent, saying, "he was not yet ready". People resented that. In today's world
when you are at the top, people expect a certain amount or respect to your
opponent. Watch what will happen to Trump, his own Party will turn against him
Trump can never get the Republican Nomination. The Tide turned against Harper with the vicious attack Adds against a younger, handsome, not as academically qualified, but humble and soft spoken. People liked that in him.

  3. If he is a chip off the old block then he might just better his father's legacy and serve for at least 30 years. Youth is on his side.
