Prime Minister Dr. Kenny D. Anthony and Minister for External Affairs Alva Baptiste left the state today for Venezuela to attend a meeting of Petro Caribe.
While Saint Lucia has not yet joined Petro Caribe and is unable at this time to secure the benefits of the alliance, the meeting is essential to allow the Government of Saint Lucia to make an updated assessment of Petro Caribe.
Prime Minister Anthony will be attending a meeting along with the Prime Ministers of Dominica and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Dr. Anthony will be returning to the state tomorrow.
Minister for Infrastructure, Port Services and Transport, Phillip J. Pierre, will assume the responsibilities of prime minister during Dr. Anthony’s absence.
