Left to Right – Mrs. Elaine Clement (Treasurer); Ms. Zhenya Allain (Vice President); Dr. Sibyl Edward (President); and Ms. Crystal Showers (Secretary).

(PRESS RELEASE VIA SNO) – The Physiotherapy Association of Saint Lucia (PASL) is a non-profit organization in existence from June 13, 2013 and represents the majority of physiotherapist on the island.

The Association held its Annual General Meeting on January 13, 2018 where the last executive headed by Dr. Sibyl Edward (as president) was re-instated for a second term.

Over the past two years, the Executive achieved some tangible milestones stemming from the mandate established when elected in 2016. However, continuous growth and development of members and the task of increased visibility of the Association should be ongoing and forms part of the current term of this Executive.

This, together with the strengthening of the core of the Association and working in tandem with the World Confederation for Physical Therapy through the alliance with the North America Caribbean Region, are additional areas agreed at this last AGM.

The strategic direction set by PASL through the regional body should assist not only the individual members, but should have an impact on the quality of physiotherapy service in St. Lucia.

The public is advised to contact PASL at [email protected] or 1-758-485-6553 for queries pertaining to the profession. However, if the services of a physiotherapist is required, the public should ensure that the individual is qualified and registered with the Allied Health Council of St. Lucia as is mandated by the Health Practitioners Act No. 33 of 2006.

Congrats to the New Executive!
