(PRESS RELEASE) — The Physiotherapy Association of Saint Lucia (PASL) Inc. is a Non-Profit Organization incorporated on June 13, 2013 via the Companies Act of Saint Lucia (Company No. 2013/C120).
PASL Inc. is made up of 12 members and became a member of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) in May, 2015.
The WCPT hosts a Congress every two years and a General Meeting every four years. These events present excellent opportunities for physiotherapists around the world to share research in the field via seminars, presentations and discussions, as well as opportunities to network and share best practices as supported by the research presented.
The WCPT hosted a General Meeting and Congress in Geneva, Switzerland from May 7- 13, 2019 and by virtue of its membership, an invitation was extended to the President of the PASL Inc. to attend those events.
The benefits of attending such a Congress can only be described as immeasurable and is not only felt within a professional body such as PASL Inc., but is also reflected in the management of the patients seen by those professionals.
One would also be aware of the spotlight placed on a country such as ours when the country is represented at such high level events.
However, given the cost associated with such a venture and given the small size of the Association and limited avenues for fund raising, the Association sought assistance from many Corporate Houses in St. Lucia.
The PASL Inc. would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Management of the following Corporate Houses who, in the true sense of benevolence and St. Lucian spirit, extended warm hands to assist the President in attending the aforementioned events:
1st National Bank St. Lucia Ltd. – Here . . . for YOU!
M & C Group of Companies – Traditional Values, New Horizons
Massy Stores (SLU) Ltd. – Our Family- Serving your Family.
St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited, LUCELEC – The Power of Caring.
Digicel St. Lucia – The Bigger Data Network
FLOW St. Lucia – This is How We Flow .
Thanks to all of you. Without you, this trip would not have been possible!
