A conference showcasing Creole productions from filmmakers and artistes took place yesterday, Thursday, Oct. 25 at Alliance Française de Ste. Lucie. The Folk Research Centre (FRC) said the event, the Creole Film Symposium, was organized by its Kwéyòl Language Committee and Alliance Française de Ste. Lucie, and it was aimed at promoting the Creole language “in an innovative and exciting way which will create public awareness of and appreciation for our national language”. The symposium is one of the events being held in celebration of Creole Heritage Month in St. Lucia. Comedy, advertisement, promotional video clips, documentaries and short fiction were featured at the symposium which was open to all film media artistes.
