PRESS RELEASE – Peter & Company and Sunbilt Ltd are both pleased to announce that this year 36 students whose parents are employees of the companies were awarded scholarships and bursaries for the academic year 2014/15 with a total value of over EC$27,000.
This record number of scholarships was made possible through the efforts of the hardworking and committed employees who work diligently and tirelessly to ensure the company’s continued success.
The scholarship program is in its 22nd year of existence and has been part of the company’s human resource strategy aimed at improving employee morale, motivation and retention. Given the current global economic challenges, this contribution is expected to be especially timely and well received by the parents. The official hand over ceremony will take place on Thursday August 21st, 2014 at the company’s Training and Conference Room at Sunbilt Cedars at 10:00 a.m.
Peter & Co and Sunbilt would like to congratulate each student who received scholarships this year and would like to encourage them to pledge to strive for excellence as these scholarships are offered on the basis of consistent academic performance. Hence, the scholarship will continue into the next year, only when students obtain the minimum passing grades of 65%. Students who fail to achieve the required pass grade of 65% will receive bursaries of a lesser value.
The company wishes to recognize Olyonie Alexander and Ali Augustin, the highest female and male scorers respectively, whose parents are Allen Smith and Albina Augustin both employees of Sunbilt Ltd.
