Two Opposition politicians who attended the Throne Speech session of the House of Assembly today have expressed disbelief after discovering parking tickets on their vehicles.

Guy Joseph, parliamentarian for Castries South East, and Lenard Montoute, Opposition representative for Gros Islet claimed their vehicles were parked along double yellow lines near Voyagers by police officers who provided valet service this morning.

This reporter observed other vehicles parked along the same lines including the vehicle of a member of the Senate.

The incident generated several onlookers and concerned citizens from both sides with claims of political victimisation and retributions.

Joseph and Montoute are hoping that the matter will be swiftly dealt with as they had no intention of breaking the law when they came into town this morning.

  2. Well I can definitely see how this can be construed as political victimization. If all the vehicles parked there were ticketed, then we could have left this as police error. But when its only members of the opposition, you have to wonder. It is high time that we stop abusing power because of who is running the government, we are only hurting St. Lucia. And to those who may think that I am being political, I assure you that my statement would be the same had the situation been reversed.

    • There have been times when this same thing happened to SLP members (when they were in opposition) but you did not hear about it (just saying).

  3. So, why has this made the news? Isn't there bigger stories than this? I just don't know how we think . . . every scenario has to be made political.

I take a dump . . . then you may ask why is my sh%t not red or yellow.

I sneeze . . . then you ask why I sneeze next to king or kenny.

I said good morning to all . . . then you may ask why I didn't tell kenny or king morning personally.

What is the thinking process . . . I do not know. It is politicians like the two "above" and others who perpetuate this way of thinking. SHAME on THEM!!!
