(PRESS RELEASE) – Over 1,000 children and 1, 500 families receive holiday cheers from the KFC, Salvation Army Christmas Toy & Food Drive and Extravaganza.
The annual Christmas Extravaganza was held last Saturday at the Derek Walcott Square. 400 underprivileged kids from around the island were given toys and treats.
The program has even extended to helping prisoners give toys to their children during visits throughout the Christmas season.
The mood was cheerful as the Christmas Extravaganza kicked off at 1 pm . Kids were greeted by Santa, played games and were entertained by popular local artists. A number of school bands also performed at the event and the money earned were geared towards buying instruments.
Hence, the spin-offs from the event are all positive.
