Operator creates self-drive option to tour St. Lucia

(TRAVEL WEEKLY) – See St. Lucia Topless is the name of a new self-drive tour offering with transportation in a Mini Cooper convertible around the island of St. Lucia.

The all-inclusive Mini Cooper Road Trip includes pickup at a hotel or villa in the north of the island, an audio guide, a tour leader or concierge in a lead car, use of binoculars, entrance fees to sites and attractions specified in the tour, lunch, use of children’s car- and booster seats, cold towels and WiFi.

Each car can seat four people; the driver must be 21 or older with a valid driver’s license and is given a St. Lucia driving permit for the tour.

Commissionable to travel agents at 10%, the tours operate daily and offer two itineraries.

The nine-hour, all-island itinerary begins in Rodney Bay in the north, continues down the west coast to Vieux Fort in the south and parallels the east coast on the return.

Rates are $400 for a single guest or $450 for two passengers. An additional adult in the back seat is $150; child rates range from $50 to $125, depending on age.

The four-hour north island itinerary covers Rodney Bay and many sites en route to Castries on the west coast. Rates are $125 per adult and $70 for a child 5 to 17 years of age.
