Online poll gauges St Lucia PM’s leadership abilities

After 17 years at the helm of the Saint Lucia Labour Party, 12 of which have been spent as the prime minister of Saint Lucia, online users are being asked to share their perspectives and opinions on the leadership qualities and abilities of Dr Kenny Anthony.

The non-scientific poll, which is currently being conducted by the Lucian People’s Movement (LPM), has run for several weeks now. It can be located on the party’s website at www.lpmstlucia.com

In that poll, the LPM decided to pose some very frank and definitive questions that may help to determine how Saint Lucians really feel about Anthony’s leadership and whether it has added value or economic benefit to the country.

The poll will conclude on Friday, June 14, 2013. The poll’s findings will be officially published on Monday, June 17.

  2. Let me start by saying i have no problem with the pm all i saying that the Vat is to high but a country cannot run without it paying it self. all were have to do is wait and see if things will come out good. I am a Strong UWP bit i don't support Mr. King as a Leader this is he cannot lead his Guys inside how can he put up with us or fight for us on the out side. Mr. Pm i am with you but you were a bit to high cause even me as a young man who works outside of St.Lucia is felling the pain of the 15%Vat. 3. I was disgusted with Kenny when he burned our behinds for 10 years, I am even more disgusted with him now, Kenny is nothing but an arrogant son of a(word held)!!! I can never vote for someone who clearly want to see the citizens of this country suffer....and that might just say where I cast my vote....Frankly, I have no idea what people see in Kenny and how he lead us to hell, but deliver us form his evil claws Amen.

  4. I was impressed the way KA stood up to the unions recently. He could have given bigger raises to get their votes, pushing off the debt to the future (as has happened in past). But he held firm. The unions, especially NWU, are driving good companies away with unreasonable demands and personal attacks. It's sad.

    • Kenny has done more to drive business away from the country. You can't ask others to take a pay cut but you refuse to do the same. Potential investors are looking at the way the government is living lavinshingly while the rest of the people suffer, and won't spend their money in a country the seems headed in Haiti's direction. For this reason I have lost faith in Kenny.

    • I was one of those who have voted for him in 3 of 4 elections. I am finally convinced that this man has nothing more to offer the country. Talk about someone who has runned out of ideas? Well my PM has!

  5. I think the PM is the best thing for us rite now as anything else we are human and mistakes will happen.

  6. The fact that the poll is unscientific means that the results cannot be definitive. The three questions posed can in no way be deterministic of the "leadership" of Kenny Anthony.

What I think you should have done is to have a more exhaustive set of questions which would help to rate Kenny's leadership.

    • I know some will think negatively of me but that's ok. I too am feeling the pinch. But we have to be open minded for st. lucia's sake.

If we are doing something, lets do it properly and not have things skewed just for our advantage.
