Official launch of Creole Heritage Month

PRESS RELEASE –
The Folk Research Centre (FRC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Heritage and Creative Industries will be launching Creole Heritage Month on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 10 am at FRC’s premises at Mount Pleasant.

The decision was taken to have an early launch in order to create the national interest that would ensure a successful festival. The month climaxes with the popular Jounen Kwéyòl scheduled for Sunday October 26th. The main venues will be Anse La Raye, Dennery and Vieux Fort.

The Minister of Tourism, Heritage and Creative Industries will join stakeholders who are expected to be represented at the launch. These include producers of various events, representatives of the three host communities of Creole Heritage Month, sponsors, artists, and officials of the Ministry.

  1. I love my Creole culture. We should do more when it comes to Creole. It is such a wonderfully unique thing in the Caribbean. Dominica is always raising awareness of it, we should be like them. Vive langue kweyole nous.Vive langue mamas nous eck papas nous. Correct me if I spelt any of it wrong my Lucian people.
