NYC General Assembly and elections confirmed

PRESS RELEASE – The Saint Lucia National Youth Council (NYC) is once again preparing to turn a new chapter in its leadership.

The NYC 2014 General Assembly is now scheduled to be held at the Clendon Mason Memorial Secondary School, on October 3rd to the 5th after its recent cancellation.

Throughout the 3-day period, the NYC will deliver its Biennial Report, consider new resolutions and elect a new Executive for the period 2014/15.

The 2014 NYC Electoral Commission, headed by Mr. Denis James, also wishes to advise all members and interested youth leaders, that upon much deliberation, and in the spirit of due process, the decision has been taken to re-open Nominations for all posts from September 26th to October 4th ending at 12:00 noon.

All nomination forms must be properly filled in accordance with the stipulated Electoral guidelines, in that, individuals must be nominated by two clubs or youth organizations so registered with their District Youth & Sports Councils. It must be noted that individuals cannot be nominated by a District Youth and Sports Council.

All nomination forms must be signed and submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to:

Nominations must be delivered on or before Thursday, 2nd October. Thereafter, all other nominations must be delivered at the General Assembly Location in order to be considered. It must also be noted that only 2 individuals per club are allowed to vote at the NYC General Elections, which will take place on the morning of Sunday 5th October.
