(PRESS RELEASE) – The National Workers Union (NWU) has submitted two (2) recognition applications to Labour Commissioner Mr. Ray Narcisse.

One application is on behalf of non-managerial employees of Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC) and the other for Soufriere Hot Wire Ltd.

The letters informed the Labour Commissioner that both groups of workers have become members of the National Workers Union and as a result, the NWU is requesting Trade Union Recognition to enable the organization to represent the workers in all matters dealing with their conditions of employment.

The Union is looking forward to a speedy determination of the request.
