PRESS RELEASE – Representatives from the Management of Secure St. Lucia Ltd, a security company operating throughout the island and officials from the National Workers Union (NWU) met September 1, 2014 at the Board Room of the Saint Lucia Employers Federation.
Today’s meeting saw the commencement of official industrial negotiations between the National Workers Union and the security services company.
The parties perused the Memorandum of Proposals submitted by the NWU and reached agreement in principle on the majority.
The negotiations commenced in a very cordial atmosphere with both parties committed to completing these sessions within an acceptable period.
The NWU already represents the employees of six security guard services on the island.
Meanwhile the NWU has written to the Management of Guardsman Security informing Management that the Union is in the process of mobilizing its security guards and expect the full cooperation from the company.
