NWU official travels to South Africa

Janel Joseph, central committee member of the National Workers Union (NWU) and shop steward at the National Insurance Corporation (NIC), a branch of the NWU, will leave Saint Lucia for Durban, South Africa this week.

While in South Africa, Joseph will join over 100 young trade union officials to participate in a Young Workers Conference. Janel will also attend the 29th Public Service International (PSI) World Congress which will attract over 400 delegates.

The trade union activities will run during the period, November 21-30, 2012.

The Saint Lucia trade union official will also pay a courtesy call on the general secretary of the Congress of South African Trade Unions.

The overall activities are being sponsored by the PSI of which the National Workers Union is an affiliate.
