NWU investigates incorrect overtime payments

The National Workers Union (NWU) says it has completed an investigation among 15 companies operating on the island.

The probe has revealed that more than 15 companies doing business in Saint Lucia are paying their workers overtime after 60 hours.

The NWU said that overtime work should be paid after eight hours. The NWU believes that such a practice is dangerous and could easily force workers to make demands for retroactive payment for the period that they received overtime pay after 60 hours.

The NWU will be writing to the Ministry of Labour on the matter.

  1. As outrageous as this sounds, consider the source. Tyrone trying to stir up problems where none exist thus making himself important.
