NWU gives update on salary negotiations with government

Officials from the National Workers Union (NWU) and representatives of government negotiating team will meet early in 2013.

The parties hope to continue negotiations which began late in 2012.

While the NWU has not reached the point of salary discussions on behalf of all daily paid and Council workers employed with government, the union instead has a priority list of issues pertaining to janitors, day care centre operatives, Victoria Hospital ward maids and Wellness Hospital staff to be laid on the table.

The union, however, is of the opinion that every effort should be made to conclude talks within a reasonable period of time so as to adequately address the period of the first triennium.
