A two-man delegation comprising Carleen Broome and Theresa Huntley from G4S Secure Services (St. Lucia) Ltd. and officials from the National Workers Union (NWU) met to discuss the future relationship of the security company and the union.
The NWU won a recently held secret ballot poll which resulted in the union becoming the recognized agent for the said workers.
The company and the union agreed to establish a protocol that would guide the grievance handling procedure and disciplinary decisions. The parties exchanged ideas on training programmes for staff as well as working assiduously towards establishing an industrial agreement that would regulate the general conditions of employment of all the company’s workers.
G4S Secure Services (St. Lucia) Ltd employs over 200 workers and has its international office in England.
