NWU and Saltibus Credit Union sign first collective agreement

(PRESS RELEASE) – The Management of the Saltibus Co-operative Credit Union and the National Workers Union have officially signed their first industrial agreement.

Clerical workers employed with the Co-operative Credit Union based in Saltibus and Piaye. benefited from a 10% general wage increase in year 1. The parties will then meet in years 2 and 3 to determine whether the Credit Union’s economic performance has improved and the possibility of revisiting the wage structure.

The Collective Agreement also makes provisions for breakfast, lunch and dinner allowance of $25.00. Study Leave, Paternity Leave, Uniforms and Acting Allowance are all provisions in the Collective Agreement.

The three (3) year industrial agreement was signed at the Department of Labour’s Vieux Fort office with Mr. Johann Harewood, Portfolio Representative signing for the NWU along with Ms. Hygina Hippolyte, President of the Saltibus Credit Union.

  1. Everyday I see the NWU signing a collective agreement, but up to now they can't sign Lucelec's senior staff agreement as yet
