NWU accuses NIC representative of walking out of meeting

PRESS RELEASE –
Negotiations between the Management of National Insurance Corporation (NIC) and National Workers Union (NWU), which commenced months ago, broke down today Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the National Workers Union office.

THE NWU delegation said that Mr. Victor Poyotte, who is leading the talks on behalf of the National Insurance Corporation, walked out from the meeting. The talks are aimed at arriving at a new industrial agreement on behalf of the NIC employees.

The National Workers Union views Mr. Poyotte’s action as being disrespectful and one that could lead to a head on clash between the National Workers Union and the National Insurance Corporation.

A meeting will be held for the NIC employees next week to determine the way forward.

  2. If as NIC's Management Representative, he has taken that course of action, then the staff of ECFH NEED to be worried.

  3. Mr P is also one of the negotiating consultants for government. Im sure he was one of those that suggested the 5 percent cut on civil servants salaries. Further more the director of nic in particular and the head honchos get paid exorbitant salaries, with the perks and yet he is playing hard ball with nic salaries. its been three long years of negotians. People believe me my dad works there and nic staff members are not paid well except for management. I find the staff memebers are passive. Check out the crussader 2011 august or july newspaper where it was mentioned that 200,000 dollars in travelling expenses was spent between the director and the chairman. The director is a dictator behaves like the company is his. all he does is drink wine, run young girls who are way younger than him and damages the company suv, which i might add is extremely expensive which your money and mine pays for. Senior Managers recently got an extreme retroactive back pay of 27 months. People do the math..........

  6. NIC money is not to pay staff. It is for government to put into construction, where parliamentarian can get a piece.
