PRESS RELEASE – Negotiations between the Management of National Insurance Corporation (NIC) and National Workers Union (NWU), which commenced months ago, broke down today Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the National Workers Union office.
THE NWU delegation said that Mr. Victor Poyotte, who is leading the talks on behalf of the National Insurance Corporation, walked out from the meeting. The talks are aimed at arriving at a new industrial agreement on behalf of the NIC employees.
The National Workers Union views Mr. Poyotte’s action as being disrespectful and one that could lead to a head on clash between the National Workers Union and the National Insurance Corporation.
A meeting will be held for the NIC employees next week to determine the way forward.
