Police have not yet arrested anyone in connection with the fatal stabbing of a Gros Islet resident in Castries on Saturday, May 18, 2013.

Troy Charles, 26, was reportedly stabbed several times in the chest during an altercation in the vicinity of the Bexon bus stand in Castries.

According to a police press release, “On Saturday, May 18, 2013, at about 1:05 am, acting upon information received, a team of officers from the Criminal Investigations Department proceeded to the intersection of Trinity Church Road and Darling Road where they made certain observations.

“Owing to information received, two male individuals were involved in an altercation during which one sustained multiple stab wounds and was transported to Victoria Hospital via ambulance.

“The officers then proceeded to the Accident and Emergency Room of Victoria Hospital where they noticed a male individual lying on a bed being attended to by a medical team.  At 1:45 am he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. This individual was later identified as 26-year-old Troy Charles of Gros Islet.

“A post mortem is scheduled at a later date to determine a cause of death. An investigation into the matter continues.”

Charles’s death is the fourth homicide committed in less than two weeks. About a dozen homicides have been committed in the country since the start of the year.

Troy Charles: The 26-year-old Gros Islet resident was stabbed during an altercation in Castries on Saturday, May 18, 2013. He succumbed to his injuries at Victoria Hospital at about 1:45 am.  No one has been arrested to date.

Sheldon Lewis: The 32-year-old Leslie Land, Castries resident was stabbed in the chest on Grass Street, Castries on Monday, May 13, 2013. No one arrested. No one has been arrested to date.

Precious Ambrose: The 27-year-old resident from St. Marie, Patience, Mon Repos, was stabbed in the neck on Friday, May 10, 2013 at about 3:20 p.m. in Patience, Mon Repos. Gerald Stephen of Mon Repos has been charged with the homicide.

Kendal Elibox: 26-year-old Kendal Elibox of Cas En Bas died on the spot after he was stabbed during an alleged altercation in Gros Islet town on Tuesday, May 7, 2013. No one has been arrested to date.

Winston Brown: 41-year-old found on Monday, April 15 at about 4 pm inside in a refrigerator at a home he shared with his mother and sister in Rodney Bay, Gros Islet. Brown died of hemorrhagic shock secondary to multiple incisions to the hands, according to the post mortem. No one has been arrested for the homicide.

Tita Wilfred: 61-year-old Belvedere Street, Vieux Fort found with her head squashed in an abandoned building at the Vieux Fort Industrial Estate at about 8 a.m. on April 11. No one has been arrested.

Krystal Felix: The 22-year-old Reduit, Gros Islet resident died from gunshot wounds sustained on April 1, 2013 at about 7:30 p.m. at Auberge Seraphine. Nathan Duncan, aka Q of Grass Street, Castries, has been charged in connection with her death.

Annie Fortune: The 49-year-old of Conway, Castries resident was stabbed to death at the Fisheries Complex on March 19, 2013 at about 9 pm. Philomena Ezra King, 49, of Vigie, Castries was charged for the murder.

Nathan Uria Stanislaus: The 27-year-old Grande Ravine, Dennery resident succumbed to a stab wound to his chest on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at about 4:40 am. One man was in police custody assisting with investigations.

Simone Leandra Garnier: The 47-year-old resident of Bisee, Castries was discovered behind a house in her community at about 7:30 am on Friday, February 1, 2013. She was lying face down in a pool of blood. Her legs were bound together and her throat slashed. No one has been arrested in relation to this incident.

Danley Leon: The 25-year-old Corinth, Gros Islet resident was stabbed in the chest area during an altercation on Saturday, January 19, 2013. Tevin James aka Jingles of Grand Riviere has been charged with his death.
